 Reference Types

A reference is a record of an item. A reference type is a template for enetering

data. The reference type for a book will contain fields to allow the user

to eneter the name of the author, the title and so on. Different types of items,

books, journal articles, cases etc. require different fields and therefore a different

reference type.

Styles

A style is a definition of how a reference type should display when exported to

Word.

A RefTypeTable and styles file suitable for use with the Australian Guide to Legal Citation has been created by the University of Queensland Library and further modified by the LRC. You may download a copy of the files:

RefTypeTable.xml

aglc2_footnotes_plus_bibliog_v8+.ens

aglc2_footnotes_only_v8+.ens

as a single zipped file from:

Download all three as a zipped file.

The .xml file should be saved to the endnote folder.

The .ens file should be saved to the endnote/styles folder on your computer.

These files are to be used in combination with training provided by the Legal Resource Centre.

The Legal Resource Centre can help with the installation of these files.

Caution: Saving the RefTypeTable file will override your existing file and any changes you made to the existing RefTypeTable. You may manually edit the RefTypeTable as an alternative to replacing it - ask the LRC for more information.
